- Two cards are dealt to each participant, only for their eyes.
- The dealer deals out five cards, three at a time, followed by two more, so each player can use them to create the best five-card hand they can.
- Players take turns placing bets before and after the revelation of each card or card. Players must contribute the same amount of chips to the pot to stay in hand and view the next card.
- The pot is won by the best poker hand.
The Rules of Texas Hold Em
The betting limits of the four main Hold em variants serve as a defining characteristic between them:
- Limit Texas Hold em: Every betting round has a predetermined betting limit.
- No Limit Texas Hold em: A player can wager any amount up to their complete chip count.
- Pot Limit Texas Hold em: A player may wager any amount up to the pot’s total.
- Mixed Texas Hold em: The game switches between No Limit Texas Hold em and Limit Texas Hold em rounds.

Rules of Texas Hold em
- The Blinds
In hold em, the player who is the nominal dealer for the current hand is designated with a marker known as “the button” or “the dealer button.” The player who posts the “small blind,” or the first forced wager, first clockwise from the button, starts the game.
- Player Betting Options
The options in Hold em are “fold,” “check,” “bet,” “call,” or “raise,” much like in other variations of poker. Depending on the course of action followed by the previous players, specific options may be accessible.
- Pre-Flop
Players can play their hand by calling or raising the big blind after seeing their hole cards. The big blind is a “live” stake for this round. It is where the action starts to the left of it.
- The Flop
The three cards, also known as “the flop.” It is community cards available to all players still in hand. Also, betting on the flop begins with the active player immediately clockwise from the button.
- The Turn
The “turn” is dealt face-up on the game after the betting for the flop round is over. The fourth communal card in Hold em is the turn.
- The River
The “river” or “Fifth Street” is face-up on the game once all betting for the turn round has ended. The river is the fifth and last community card in a game of Hold ’em.
- The Showdown
When the final betting round is over, and still more than one player left, the last person to bet or raise displays their cards. If there was a bet on the final round, the player starts clockwise from the button showing their cards first. A player with the strongest five-card poker hand wins the pot. Also, the jackpot will be split equally amongst the players with the best hands in the case of identical hands. All suits are equal according to Texas Hold Em rules.
